From September 10 to 12, 2025, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), at the Gear Research Centre (FZG) in Garching, will host the eleventh edition of the International VDI Conference on Gears, one of the most prestigious global events for the gears and power transmission industry. The conference will bring together more than 500 experts from companies, universities, and research centers, creating a unique meeting point to share innovations and outline the future directions of the sector.
Stagnoli Gears will participate in the conference with an exhibition booth (No. 19), showcasing their expertise and their vision of a gear indus
try capable of combining technical performance with functional design. For the company, this participation represents a strategic opportunity to engage with key players in the field, strengthen its positioning, and present its most advanced solutions for polymer-based transmissions.
During the VDI Conference 2025, a scientific paper developed by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano will be presented, based on an experimental study of POM-C gears manufactured and supplied by Stagnoli. The study, conducted on a closed-loop test rig, enabled the characterization of the fatigue behavior of polymer gears under different load, speed, and temperature conditions.
The results highlighted specific failure modes of polymer materials—such as progressive wear and internal heating phenomena (hysteretic heating)—providing data of great technical interest to the international community. The paper explicitly mentions Stagnoli, emphasizing the company’s role in producing the test specimens used in the research.
With the presentation of this case study, Stagnoli will not only be a key exhibitor but also a technical partner in a research project that enriches the scientific landscape of the sector. The conference thus becomes a privileged moment of exchange for engineers, designers, and specialists interested in exploring the potential of polymer gears, paving the way for new industrial applications and increasingly precise design standards.
We look forward to meeting you from September 10 to 12 in Munich, at booth No. 19, to discover Stagnoli’s solutions.
